Baltimore Orioles Decision-Making Flowchart

Posted on February 27, 2012 | in Baseball, Sports | by

Someone on Twitter shared this (I wish I could remember who) but this is a humorous look at how decisions are made with the Baltimore Orioles front office.

True or untrue? You be the judge.

Obviously some of the keys to successful and valid decision matrices lies within simplicity (limit number of necessary approvals), immediacy (short chains of command), and lack of ambiguity (one path to follow). While not a true “lean tool” using a decision matrix as a visual map to identify opportunities for improvement in communication is very helpful. Use of organizational charts to streamline decision matrices and get answers faster is a good place to start.

Of course, hopefully your organizational chart isn’t as convoluted as the Orioles decision matrix.
