Cold Calling: The Pursuit of Happyness

In this scene from The Pursuit of Happyness, Chris Gardner (played by Will Smith) demonstrates how reducing some wasteful activities in the office can make a big impact in productivity.

Out of necessity he has to have a shorter day, so he has to make the most of the resources he has. Instead of hanging up the receiver he just hits the hangup button on the phone and proceeds to the next call. He eliminates time wasted using the restroom by not drinking water during the day and not spending any precious seconds at the water cooler.

(Note: I’m not one to condone the complete elimination of rehydration, however if he consumes only what he needs to stay hydrated but doesn’t overfill he does save time.)
